Poignant things:

- These microfictions by Edmundo Paz Soldán, which feel like Borges meets James Tate. For example:
CARNAVAL
I’m invited to a costume party. I decide to go as myself, so I take off the mask I typically wear when I’m out in the world, working, visiting the girlfriend, conversing with friends or home with my family.
The party’s boring and the masks aren’t original: they all stole my idea.

ReplyDeleteThe whole point of a stab wound
is the poignant memory. I wound
my Swiss army knife, mistaking it
for a Swiss watch. Guess I'm on
military time now...
Okay, I'm not wholly awake yet.
It is a line from one of my poems!!! It's from "Poem with a Line from Saturday Night Fever" (that's not the line from Saturday Night Fever though) and it was in Coconut 12.
DeleteAnd now I really, really want to watch SNF.
