Kind of an Ozma vibe, right?

You guys remember that movie Return to Oz?

It's weird -- I thought Ozma was so beautiful, and now she just looks like a little girl. But those empathetic eyes! Such beauteous pity she had. Anyway, I look a little like Ozma in this picture, right? Am I in crazytown?

My best friend from high school, her first email address was Promise you. I need to email her like, right now.

  1. Hmmmm. Okay, since you asked -- I can see a general resemblance: similar skin tones and hair color, similar greenish clothing and background colors. Your eyes (in the photo here) seem to me noticeably darker than Ozma's in the photo here, though I'm thinking that's partly just an effect of the photo lighting.

Apart from those kinds of things, Ozma's expression looks (I think) more sad and almost-tearful. In the photo of you, you seem to have a slight smile.

And, as you said, in the photo of Ozma here, she looks like a young girl. In the photo of you, you're clearly an adult, and I see an adult expression in the photo of you.

I don't think I ever saw Return to Oz. When I was grade school age, once a year in the early spring one of the TV networks would show the original Wizard of Oz movie on TV. I remember it as a kind of major annual event. May have had something to do with the fact that one of the girls in my grade school class (at least a couple of years) -- one of my early childhood loves or crushes or whatever is the right word at that age (talking 6 or 7 years old here) really liked The Wizard of Oz. For a long time the movie carried, for me, some of the aura of child love enchantment.

    1. Well, I did say "kind of" ... my eyes are blue though!

It's a good movie! Silly in parts, yes, but pretty interesting -- my understanding is that it adheres much more closely to the books than the original Wizard of Oz did. Very different feel.
